Story of my life

Pure Boredom

Today is just creeping by. Now I know why I couldnt remember the last time I had nothing to do on the weekend....because I hate having nothing to do!! I did my Tubofire - Fire 45 that is scheduled for tomorrow. 1. Because I was bored and 2. Because Im going out tomorrow night and wont have time for my second workout.

Day 2 of my Eat to Live diet is going well. This morning I took the veggies in my fridge and cut them all up and bagged them so this week I will have an easy time making the right decision. I also chopped up some tofu and threw it in the freezer. For anyone who hasnt frozen tofu before...DO IT! It changes the texture and gives it more of a chicken texture. You can crumble it like ground beef, or just eat it cubed, it holds its form so much easier. You just keep it in the freezer until it turns a light yellow color. Thats when you know its ready. :)

So far my food journal went like this:

Breakfast: Oatmeal and an apple banana

Lunch: Romaine lettuce, soy beans, corn, pinto beans. I microwaved the beans and corn. I love eating something warm with the lettuce, it allows me to not need any salad dressing for some reason. :)

Snack: Almonds

Dinner: I want to have some kind of soup, but Im not sure how to make it yet....not to mention its only 2:30pm :)

Like I said yesterday, 2 lbs of veggies is A LOT of veggies!! Its amazing how much more you can eat when your eating the right stuff. Today Im not having any cravings or hunger pains... I did have a headache last night and today, I think its caffeine withdrawals. Prior to this I would always have a Go Girl or Mocha or something. I wonder if I can drink green tea on this diet.....

Anyways Im gonna go to town and do...SOMETHING! Frick this staying at home nonsense.

Thinspiration

Right now I would usually be working out, but since today is my rest day I am spending my time posting up some "Thinspiration" pics. You may notice they are all in their bra/undies, who doesnt like to hang out in that? It's comfy as heck. I absolutely love the female form. Its just so sexy, the curves, lines, definition. I love being a girl. :)

Eat to Live - Day One

Today was day one of my Eat To Live diet. I did really good. I didnt have any cravings, didnt cheat once and felt great. I hope this stays true through the rest of the time. My food intake went like this:

Breakfast: 2 Apple Bananas and a Fuji Apple. (apple bananas are these yuuummmmyyyy little sweet bananas that we have here in Hawaii. They blow those nasty ass William and/or chaquita bananas out of the water.)

Lunch: A salad I made at Island Naturals. It consisted of lettuce, shredded beets, shredded carrots, cucumber, olives, broccoli, artichoke, avocado, sunflower seeds, flaxseed, mushrooms, bell pepper and tofu.

Dinner: Homemade salad with romaine lettuce, asparagus, pinto beans and corn.

I had another banana between lunch and dinner. I am not starving, in fact I feel really satisfied. You're supposed to eat like 2 pounds of veggies, I just cant do it. I eat until Im full. One thing I need to improve is my water intake.

Today was nice and relaxing, I spent the day in town with my hubby and when we got home I took a 2 hour nap. Hahaha is it still a nap when its 2 hours? My body needed the rest, this past week was pretty harsh. When I awoke from my slumber I went and did my second workout which was the Turbofire- Core 20 dvd. Its much easier than the ab ripper X but you can still feel the burn. Plus, its nice to do something different for a change.

Tomorrow is my "rest day". I dont know what Im going to do with myself.

00 Buck vs. Pumpkin

I posted some pictures of our pumpkins being blown up, check them out at Feeding My Addictions.

Have a great day! ;)

Intimates?

Omg, I was playing with my costume last night and got a good look at the package it came in....its an "intimates" costume! hahahaha. I didnt realize when I bought it because all it is is the cape/hood thing and some lace gloves. I figured it was just an accessories kit....which it is, but an intimates accessory kit. hehe, no one has to know. ;)

I slept in until 7:30am!!!! I know to most thats not sleeping in, but my usual wakeup time is 4:00am so thats pretty damn good in my world. It felt good to not have such a rigid schedule to wake up to.  I still woke up and did my same routine where I go straight to my workout, but the sun was actually up!

Today was KenpoX. My legs felt like jello flying through the air.....not sore....just...jello-e. (lol is that a word?) I have my Turbofire- Core 20 to do later this afternoon. I dont remember doing that workout when I did Turbofire before.  I cant believe that today is day 6 of my doubles and so far I havent missed a beat! I skipped the rest day for Turbo so tomorrow would be a complete rest day, not 1/2 rest.

Im starting my Eat to Live adventure today. So far I have had a banana but Im gonna go have some strawberries and a fuji apple in a minute. I'm excited to see what this brings. There are a lot of smoothie options I noticed but I hate using my blender!

Well its time to blow up a pumpkin. Whoopie.

T.G.I.F.F.

Yeah thats right, F.F.  Im so happy that this week is over. I have two days off, in a row! I cant remember the last time this happened. :) I always have something planned, something to do, something I committed to. But not this time! Today was a Friday from hell. I woke up on time and then took way too long of a shower and it was all downhill from there. I was running late, couldnt get my lunch made, forgot my green tea at home, went to the store to get a sandwich for lunch - they were sold out, got to work, fell off my chair....yep you read right. Dont ask me how I managed to fall off my chair but I did. Im sticking with the story that the chair flew out from underneath me.....I tried to go to Island Naturals for lunch, got this pasta thing that tasted HORRIBLE! That was the first time I ever got anything from there that I didnt like. It was like this indian flavor pasta with mustard undertones. It was nasty....After that I had a crazy busy night, got home past the time I wanted to and in return had to do a late workout so now I went from tired, tired, tired to wired, wired, wired. I hate when I get off schedule. Drives me nuts.

Anyways, enough bitching about that, this morning, before I started to run late I did my legs and back routine. My legs have been sore since the start of the week and Im hoping today's workout didnt pushed me over the edge. Im icing my knee right now since the combo of all this exercise and falling off my chair really seemed to tweak it out today.  I enjoy the leg routines over all, I really want to get that nice gap between my thighs. ;) This evening I did my second work out which was Turbofire- Fire 30. I kind of just breezed through it. Its a pretty easy routine once you know the moves....which I do since it was the third time this week that it was on the schedule!

As for my diet today I had:

Breakfast: Oatmeal

Lunch: A bite of nasty ass pasta

Dinner: Fried rice and a Go Girl

Snack: Lemon cookie from BI Candies

I really lack proper nutrition. To get things under control I borrowed this book called Eat To Live. Check it out. I'm going vegan for the next 6 weeks, then we will see where I go from there. I was a vegetarian for a while a couple years ago, but fell off track somewhere along the road. It will be nice to go back, although I never went as extreme as vegan.

Ohhhh, off the subject but Halloween is on Monday!! I <3 Halloween. I finally found my costume. I love to wait until the last minute then everything is dirt cheap. My costume costed me $5. Shawoop! Guess what Im going to be?

Im so excited! :)

Turbofire - Fire 55

Waking up at 3:00am is not a good idea. I didnt know waking up just one hour earlier would make such a difference. I was dragging by the end of the day and all I could think about was how I was going to get through my second workout. Solution? Go Girl. Those drinks are miracle workers. Less than 5 calories, no sugar and a boost of energy. I blasted through my 55 minute cardio with no problem. Now its coming up on 7:30 and I still need to cook dinner, shower and go to SLEEP! ;)

There was no exploding of the pumpkins this afternoon, my hubby got called into work. Cant say I was disappointed. lol

YogaX

Its 4:30am and Im done with my first workout for the day! Talk about an early start. YogaX was different today, I was actually able to clear my mind. Im almost certain its because it was 3:00am and my mind was still sleeping but I will take it. ;) It definitely makes things easier without thoughts racing through my mind at a million mph. By the end of the workout I was definitely starting to lose focus as my mind was starting to churn. "What time is it? Am I going to have enough time to get ready? What was I going to wear to work? What was I going to have for breakfast? Should I pack lunch? Was there anything I forgot to do yesterday?" Then texts starting to roll in on my phone about this and that. I didnt check it, but once I hear that chirp all I can think about is, who wrote me? Is it important? Nobody better be calling in sick to work... hahaha. :P

Back to the workout though, it went a lot smoother than my other attempts at YogaX. I may just have to wake up super early every time I do it since thats the only thing I did differently. This afternoon I have scheduled Turbofire - Fire 55 ez. I have to try and race the sun home because my husband wants to blow up his pumpkin and have me take pictures of it mid-explosion. Whats with boys and blowing crap up? Do you guys ever grow out of it? We live on a huge piece of land so our neighbors are pretty far away so he can do stupid stuff like this. lol

I really need to get my diet in check. I have a fresh start today so I will make it work.  Patients have been bringing me goodies almost everyday this week. I appreciate the thought, but a fruit bowl would be so much better than a thing of cookies. So far this morning I have had a banana. I didnt want to wait too long between when I woke up and breakfast but I started Yoga right out of bed and like to eat as close as I can to when I leave so I wont need a snack between breakfast and lunch. If I wait until 5:30 to eat breakfast then I can easily last until 11:00. So a banana had to do.

Anyways I have to get ready for work....whomp whomp.

Photo Shoot

Earlier this week I mentioned that I did a photo shoot this past weekend. She just posted the pictures and I thought I would share a couple. So, without further a due, here are the photos courtesy of  Carrie Lum Photography! :)

HIIT 15 and a new scale!

I just finished my HIIT 15. I had a mean cramp on the left side of my lower abdominal area, which caused me to pause the routine for a couple minutes, but I jumped back in once it went away, I dont know what was up with that! I know I mentioned this earlier but I really enjoy this routine, I cant wait until the longer HIIT workouts are on the schedule.

Tomorrow for Turbofire they say its a rest day....day 3 and already a rest day? Whats up with that? P90X is Shoulders and Arms. I didnt realize that the rest days were not on the same day, I thought it was 6 days on, one day off, but Turbofire switched it up on me. Now if I'm doing both routines that means I would be working out 7 days a week. I think I need to tweak something. Im excited about tomorrows routine, I really like the strength ones. Its nice to not have to bounce around all over the place for an hour sometimes. Plus I can give my knee a break. It did a loud pop during my routine tonight. Kind of like the pop you would get when cracking your back or something. Maybe it was trying to fix itself. lol

Before we came home tonight my husband took me to Target so I could get a new scale. I went through a period of time where I was ADDICTED to weighing myself, its embarrasing to say that I had 3 scales and I would weigh myself on each one, several times a day and use the 3 different readings to get my average weight. It was so unhealthy, each scale would give me just a slightly different reading. I would jump on as soon as I woke up, after I pee'd, before I ate breakfast, after I ate breakfast, after I got dressed, when I got home, after I worked out, after my shower, before dinner, after dinner, completely naked, fully clothed, after I brushed my teeth, before I went to bed and repeat. My husband finally took my scales away and chucked them. I had just one until tonight. Now I have a digital scale and a regular one. I am blind as a bat without my contacts on so I have a really hard time reading the regular scale....even when my contacts are on Im guessing what line the tick is on. So he got me one with big numbers on it. I tested it with my dumbbells and its accurate. I promised I would not get nuts about it.

Anywhos a little motivation for tomorrow...*drool*:

Plyometrics

Since I'm doing P90X classic I am able to do Plyo again. What a workout! My only problem is that I twisted my knee out of alignment once before and I started feeling that same discomfort since my last run. (I slightly lost my footing while I was out, but was hoping it wouldnt do this)  I have to go every so often to the chiropractor so they can pop it back into place and wrap it for a little while to let the muscles heal around it. It doesnt hurt when they pop it in, without it my knee will crack when it extends and give me discomfort when it bends. How nice...and it rhymes! :) Hopefully its just a little inflammation and goes away on its own.

Tonight when I get home I will do HIIT 15. I like that workout. Its just go, go, go, done! Its over before you know it, but you are dripping sweat. Love it.

The picture Im posting has nothing to do with anything, hes just hot. I post hot chicks all the time, lets give the guys some love. :) Uh, yum.

Hybrid... my way!

So I was thinking all day today about my workout routine and lack of motivation. I wanted to narrow in on what was different that is making me feel this way and I think I may have found the solution. I started taking a new BC pill about 2, going on 3 weeks ago and that I really feel its having a negative effect on my attitude/emotions so I am changing back. The second reason is that I dont like being told what to do. hahaha simple as that! I started the P90X/Turbofire hybrid schedule on Beachbody and its not the way I wanted to do it.  I wanted to do P90X classic (full routine) AND Turbofire (full routine) simultaneously.  They kind of merged the two together and left out routines from each.... not cool. So today is day one of my new routine.  I did chest/back this morning and as soon as I got home from dinner I did my Turbofire - Fire 30 routine. Helllllll yeah. Bring it. :) Im actually excited and it feels good! I get to decide what I do and do not do. Turbofire will act as my supplemental. I will shoot to do it every night but in the event that I dont, I know I hit it hard in the morning with my P90X classic. It will be like a kick ass safety net.

Monday blues

I have been struggling lately with pushing play and today was no different. I am just so sick of Tony's voice and jokes and tired of Chalene's music and instruction. I know I can just mute it and listen to my own music but then I would really lose focus. It took a long time to do my chest and back routine today because I kept pausing it and saying I was done, then feeling guilty and end up going back to it. I just dont get the same satisfaction from the DVDs as I do running trails. I wish there was more daylight so I could do it everyday.

Now I'm on my lunch break eating 3 mashed up eggs and a go girl. Sounds gross but I like it. This morning I had a bowl of oatmeal....I still haven't decided what to make for dinner, maybe veggie stir-fry.

Oh I forgot to mention about yesterday! The photo shoot was a lot of fun, I have never had so many pictures taken of me, I was pretty uncomfortable in the beginning but once I warmed up I had a good time. She took over 500 shots! Ah! I can't wait to see the end result. I will share a few once they're ready. Anywho's I'm gonna relax for the rest of my break. I will finish my update later. :)

Back into the groove

Woke up at 4am to workout. I did Turbofire 45, it was nice to get back into the groove... I guess. It was cold this morning and it would have been a lot nicer to stay in bed, but I forced myself up. Im such a wuss when it comes to cold... it was probably like 60 degrees, but I was freezing. Im spoiled by this Hawaii weather.

After work my husband and I carved pumpkins. I made Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas. I have to clean up around his teeth but Im tired already.

My food intake today was yucky. Well it all tasted good but when I write it out you will probably think to yourself, "ew". lol

Breakfast: Ham and egg white sandwich (not gross)

Lunch: Furikake Popcorn. This is where it sounds gross, but I promise its oh so good. This place in the mall makes it. Basically its popcorn, furikake, arare and sour cream powder. Im assuming that its kind of like the ranch powder mix you can use to make ranch dip, but sour cream. I  took a picture with my phone. Its so messy you have to eat it with chopsticks. :)

Dinner: havent eaten yet

Snack: 2 Mele Kalikimacs. Yum!

Anyways, tomorrow will be a busy day, I have to be up and ready at my friends by 5:30am to catch the morning sun to do the first half of the photo shoot. I better go to sleep soon!

Red lips and Platinum Hair

"Hair Day" is my most favorite day, it comes every 5 weeks. I finally achieved my platinum blonde hair I was shooting for! I have been going every 5 weeks weeks since July to get it to this point. I am so excited! For anyone who knows hair you will feel my excitement when I say in July I had dark red hair. Mmm hmmm, red to blonde, damn near impossible, sure I lost a lot of length in the process but I'd rather have shorter platinum hair then long dark hair any day. Thats what extensions are for anyways.  Now I can rock my red lips and platinum hair... oh happy day!

Besides my hair appt, today was great! I drove a total of about 200 miles today (round trip) to the other side of the island. The whole way I listened to Taking Back Sunday radio station on Pandora as loud as I wanted and was in heaven. I went to Sports Authority and got a water bottle and bright shirt to run with and some shot gun shells for my hubby. Then it was off to Target where they had awesome clearance. I picked up a purse- $8.98, cardigan- $7.98, ruffled top - $4.98, scarf - $3.98, plain white tee- $5.00 , some nail polish - $1.79 and make-up remover - $0.99. I love great deals.

BTW guess what I didnt do today? Workout. :P Im starting my routine again tomorrow where I wake up at 4:00am to get down to business. Its the only way I can do it. So that will be how I start my day, then its off to work and then pumpkin carving. Sunday I agreed to be a subject for an up and coming photographer, its sounding like its going to be an all day event, hair, makeup, outfit changes. It will be exhausting, but fun.

Before I go here's my food journal:

Breakfast: Boiled egg and a banana - sounds gross, but it was good. :)

Lunch: Green bean tempura from Genki Sushi....mmmmmmm

Dinner: didnt eat yet

Snack: Starbucks iced mocha (tall).... I needed it for the drive home.

Date night

Everything about yesterday was great, except for the fact that I didnt workout...again! My motivation in that department is still on vacation. Every other part of my life is great so Im not going to complain too much. :) I think its good to remind myself that this isnt a race, I dont have a deadline, this isnt a quick fix, this is a lifestyle change! I need to do things that I can maintain for the rest of my life. I can guarantee that working out EVERYDAY is not one of them. But I will make it a point to workout several times a week, I just cant get down on myself if "life" happens.

Work went nice and smooth yesterday and my husband took me out on a date night afterwards, which was completely unexpected making it that much more special.  Who could ask for more? ;) My diet yesterday was not bad, to my standards at least.

Breakfast: Granola and Go girl

Lunch: Egg sandwich with a side salad

Dinner: Bean Burrito

Snacks: None

We went grocery shopping after dinner last night and picked out pumpkins to carve and bought tons of veggies and other yummy things so we can actually cook dinner this week. :) Fish was super cheap which was great, so we stocked up. By the time we got home and got everything put away it was well past 10:00pm so exercising would have only made me stay up later. I really just have to workout in the morning to ensure things like this dont happen. I didnt even get to watch my Thursday night line up, thank goodness for DVR! :)

Anywhos its 6:00am and I have to get ready for the day ahead. On the agenda I have a hair appt and then a possible trip to the other side of the island to pick up a few things...if not its to the park for a hike. Regardless,  it looks like its going to be another beautiful day. TGIF ;)

Motivation, where art thou?

My motivation is taking a sick day today. I dont know if its because I had a day from hell today or what but my diet sucked and my workout, well its non-existant. Sure its 7:00pm and I could potentially still work out, but to hell with it. Raincheck please!

My diet blew chunks it was like any concept of a diet went out the window. At least I ate I guess. ;)

Breakfast: Safeway Breakfast Sandwich, which is egg whites, ham and cheese.

Lunch: I had a Korean Bento from Seoul Station, it consisted of rice, meat jun and mandoo. There was kim chee too, but I hate that crap.

Dinner: Kids meal from Pandas minus the cookie and soda. I just had water.

Snacks: none

I guess its not ttthhhhaaattt bad, but compared to my usual its horrible. I guess today can be my "cheat" day. I heard those are good for you anyways.

Tomorrow will be a new day. I get to wake up at the crack of dawn to be to work by 6:30am, work all damn day, squeeze in a workout then veg. in front of the TV for my 2 hours of trash that I watch. Its a Thursday ritual, cant stop now. Besides watching Dexter on DVD my TV time is pretty limited.

I found this picture online and it made me feel pretty good since I am in a healthy range. 5'1 - 134 lbs. Sure 6 lbs and Im out but Im not gaining, Im losing. So nothing to worry about! Someday I want to be at the bottom of the bracket. I should set a goal.  2lbs a week, say my goal is 110lbs, that means I have to lose 24lbs, that would be January completion? That sounds do-able. Only thing is I dont know when I was ever 110 lbs. I dont know if my body is capable of sustaining that as a "healthy" weight. Eh, when I am satisfied I will stop.....well not stop, just maintain. :)

Amen

Curry

Yeah I eat with kid utensils, and what? :) lol, Last night I made this curry dish that is actually supposed to be put into some kind of pastry puff, similar to an empanada? Im not sure what to compare it to.  I didnt want all that dough with my dinner so my husband had it with rice, I just ate it plain. It was super easy and really yummy.  Here's the recipe if you want to try it:

Chicken - (I used a roasted chicken because I was too lazy after work to cook one haha, but you could just use frozen chicken breast)
1 onion- chopped
2 large potato - diced
2 tsp. curry powder (or more if you want)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4-1/8 tsp pepper
2 tbs. sugar
3 tbs. oyster sauce
1 tbs. shoyu
4 cloves chopped garlic

Soften onion in a little bit of oil, add garlic and fry til fragrant.  Add chicken and brown. Add oyster sauce, potato, spices and cook until soft. You can cover it for a bit to get the potatoes soft. Voila! Dinner is served!

Yesterday I did CardioX. As much as I hate yoga the small segment in this workout felt sooo good on my calves. They are pretty tight from the running I have been doing so I welcomed yoga....just this once. :)

As for my food journal yesterday it went  like this:

Breakfast: Go Girl and Nature Valley Granola

Lunch: Ahi and green beans (left overs from the night before)

Dinner: Curry

Snack- Almonds

I was actually pretty hungry yesterday which hasnt been the norm, so of course I didnt have any snacks packed because I usually dont need them. Thankfully I had those almonds. I did walk to the 7-11 near my work during lunch because I was craving something sweet, I could have snatched a bag of m&m's and been one happy camper but I decided to go with a calorie/sugar free juice thing...it tasted like lychee. It satisfied my craving and I didnt snarf up any additional calories. Phew! ;)

Day 22

Today is day 22. Im still sticking to it. I havent "pushed play" as many times as I should have this week because I swapped those workouts with running instead. I absolutely love jogging in the national park. Its nice and cold since its higher in elevation and there is usually no one around, sure I will pass someone here and there, but no one seems to jog on these trails. Its just me and the path. Its quiet and I can just zone out with my ipod (which is currently glued to the new Blink-182 album, ohhh how I missed them, there is something about their voices that are so attractive. The new CD is good, its a bit more mature than their last in regards to the lyrics and sounds like a mix of Angels and Airwaves and their old stuff).  I went back to the park today and did another 3 miles, I would have done more but I got rained out. Drizzle I can handle but it started to come down rather hard and I just wasnt having it anymore.

I took some pictures today to do a little comparision. My usual attire for pictures were in the wash, and I didnt feel like changing when I got home from jogging.  I know I should really wait until the 30 day mark but I hate to wait! Changes are small to most but big to me, not to mention there is only a 12 day gap between these pictures. (if you want to see my starting point, click here.) The side view I can totally tell the reduction, same for the front view around my hips. Im so happy. :)

Well I'm going to go and do another workout before I cook dinner.  Although its over now there has been unnecessary drama in my life, especially today. It used to affect me differently but now, I just workout and I'm over it. Exercise is the best medicine. :)  With each drama filled situation I encounter it only makes me wiser, but it also makes me more reclusive because I hate putting up with that kind of B.S.  I guess being a loner does have its perks. Blah. :P

Rest Day- Saturday Adventures

I declare today my rest day! :) I worked until 2:00 and then my husband picked me up so we could have some fun. Check out my other blog Feed My Addictions for pictures and more. :)

National Park Adventure

This is my after. I ate a sausage...and a bite of egg, maybe some potato and tossed whats left in the picture. :) For lunch my sister and I went to this place called Bueno Burrito. Its reminds me of a knock off version of Chipotles. Of course, Chipotles kicks their ass, but it will have to do. I did a bowl instead of a burrito, it had cilantro rice, pinto beans, lettuce, shredded chicken, olives, sour cream and guacamole. It was incredibly filling, I think I ate maybe 1/2. :)

After lunch it was off to the National Park. I have been there quite a few times, and have done this exact trail. I dont know what I was thinking or where my mind was but I got lost. Mega lost. I went down into the crater, climbed up the switchbacks, then from there I made a wrong turn and turned up in some deserted place that looks like people havent been in a while. The road was all cracked with grass growing up through it...but at least there was a road, thats how I knew I was safe. It wasnt a regular road that had normal traffic, it looked almost like an emergency route. I have no idea. Im just glad I had my GPS running on my phone so I was able to find my way back. If not I might still be there! :) Besides getting lost the hike was beautiful! I took some shots with my camera phone, but I cannot stand camera phone quality, I mean just those two pictures above are pretty horrendous. You can check out my other blog at Feeding My Addictions to find pictures from the park. You can even check out my route from today by clicking here. It says I had a 659 ft gain during my hike! Whoop whoop! My legs are going to be feeling it tomorrow. :)

Breakfast

Lol silly post I know but I've been thinking about how everyday I say I need to eat more so here is my attempt. It's not very much but it's more than my usual. Baby steps. :) problem is is that I look at it and have no desire to eat it. It's eggs and veggie sausage from Island Naturals. Im sure it's delicious but eh. Here is to baby steps. ;)
